As part of the Victor Batte-Lay Foundation policy, a comprehensive review has been carried out of The Collection with the aim of refocusing on high quality works by regional artists.
Certain items that do not fit within these criteria have been earmarked for sale in order that proceeds can be directed towards more relevant artists and their works.
This approach has produced excellent results with us obtaining items by James Dodds, Peter Coker, Henry Collins and John Moore.
A key painting within The Collection has been augmented by the acquisition of a 1980’s exhibition poster, signed by the artist , Maggie Hambling.
Another important addition , in 2016, was the purchase of watercolour by Anthony Atkinson.
